Paid promotion of contest entries

Targeted ads that send genuine supporters to your entry page, planned around the contest's own rules and measured every day.

In shortPaid promotion of a contest entry means buying advertising on the platforms' own ad systems so that people who might care about your entry see it, click, and decide whether to vote. CoinMarketing Pro plans the audience, writes the ads, launches them after a rules check, and reports daily. Ad spend is billed separately from our fee.
  • White-hat methods
  • No bots, no purchased votes

What does paid promotion of a contest entry actually buy?

It buys attention from a defined audience for a limited time. The advertising platform shows your ad to people who match the interests, locations and languages you chose, and charges for impressions or clicks. Nothing else is bought: not votes, not followers, not reactions.

That is why the ad has to do real work. It must explain in a few seconds who you are, what you entered and why someone should spend a minute voting. The page it lands on must make voting easy. If the contest asks for an email confirmation or a login, the ad and the landing message prepare the supporter for that step.

What a paid campaign is good for

  • Reaching people outside your own circle, such as the audience of a hobby, a city or a profession.
  • Reminding supporters who already liked your entry that the deadline is close.
  • Testing which message gets a click before you spend more on it.

What it cannot do

It cannot make a stranger vote, and it cannot change a rule. Our job is to put a clear, honest offer in front of the right people and to show you what happened. For how this fits the whole service, see contest marketing.

How does a contest ad campaign run from first call to final reminder?

A campaign follows the shape of the contest: a short preparation, a launch, a middle period of testing and optimising, and a final push before the deadline.

We begin with the rules, because the rules decide what is allowed. We read the voting mechanics: public or jury, daily limits, registration, email or phone checks. The rules and risk check shows the questions we ask. Then we choose audiences and write two or three ad angles. One may be personal, one about the craft or the cause, one a plain reminder with the deadline.

The testing period

In the first days we watch which angle earns clicks and which audience completes the vote. Weak ads are paused, strong ones receive more budget. We keep the daily budget even instead of spending it in bursts, since steady reach tends to suit contests that run for weeks.

The final push

The last days are for reminders to people who have already seen your entry, a final message with the deadline and a thank-you after it closes. A calendar for seven, fourteen or thirty days shows how we pace the weeks. Our methodology explains how we read results.

Which platforms and ad formats suit a contest entry?

The right platform is the one where your voters already spend time, and the right format is the one that makes voting a single easy step.

  • Facebook and Instagram suit local, family, hobby and business contests. Image and short video ads can link straight to the voting page. See Facebook and Instagram.
  • TikTok and YouTube suit music, dance, film and creator contests, where a clip is the entry itself. See TikTok and YouTube.
  • X, Reddit and Threads suit conversation-driven topics and niche communities, with each community's rules observed. See X and Reddit.
  • LinkedIn suits professional awards and business rankings. See LinkedIn.
  • Google Ads suit contests people actively search for, or entries that need a clear landing page. See Google Ads.

We rarely run more than three platforms at once. A small budget spread across many channels produces data nobody can read. We choose after the rules check and agree the choice with you in the plan.

What do you need to prepare before ads can start?

Very little, but it has to be accurate. Send these, and we handle the rest:

  • The link to the contest and the full rules or terms.
  • The direct link to your entry and a note on how voting works for a supporter.
  • The deadline, including time zone.
  • Your best material: photos, clips or a short description in your own words.
  • The audience you hope to reach and any places that are off limits.
  • Whether anyone under the age of majority is involved, because that changes what we may do.

If you do not have all of this yet, the free contest analysis is the place to start. We will tell you what is missing. If you also want us to produce the posts, banners and short video, the creative and copy service covers that, and the work is approved by you before it goes live.

You also give us access to run the ads. Usually this is a business account on the advertising platform that you own, or one we set up with you, so the ad account and its history stay yours.

What is included, how do you report, and how is it billed?

Included: audience plan, ad setup, tracking links, two or three creative angles, launch, daily monitoring, optimisation and a wrap-up report. Creative production beyond the ad set, influencer posts and outreach are separate services that can be added.

Reporting

Every day you receive a short report from the platforms' own analytics: spend, reach, clicks, and where visitors came from. Where the voting page allows tracking, we link visits to completed votes. Where it does not, we say so and use the clicks and the entry counter you can see yourself.

Billing

There are two lines on every invoice. The first is ad spend, which is paid to the platform and agreed with you in advance as a daily or total budget. The second is our fee for planning, creative, management and reporting. We confirm the quote in writing before work starts, and it depends on the platforms, the countries, the length of the campaign and the amount of creative needed. Request it through the budget planner, which also gives you a thirty-minute strategy call.

We do not hide ad spend inside our fee, and we do not move your budget between platforms without telling you.

Where do the limits of paid contest advertising lie?

Three things sit outside any agency's control: the contest's rules, the platforms' review of each ad, and the supporter's own decision. We read the rules before spending, we prepare the contest terms and the entry page in advance so a review does not stall the launch, and we plan the message around how much effort voting needs. Where a rule forbids outside promotion, we tell you and decline the project, which is spelled out on the page about projects we decline.

The next step is small. Send the contest link, the rules, your entry and the deadline through the free contest analysis, and we will reply with what the rules allow, which platforms look sensible, and a quote you can approve or walk away from.

Frequently asked questions

How much does paid promotion of a contest entry cost?

It has two parts: the ad budget you set, paid to the platform, and our fee for planning, creative, management and reporting. The fee depends on platforms, countries, campaign length and creative needed, so we quote it on request and confirm it in writing before work starts.

Will paid ads get my entry flagged by the organizer?

Ads bring people from advertising platforms to your entry, so the traffic looks like what it is. Organizers care about automated or bought votes, which we do not use. We still read the rules first, because some contests prohibit outside promotion entirely, and then we decline.

How do you target the right audience for a contest?

We start from who would care about the entry: a hobby community, a city, a profession, a fandom. Then we choose interests, locations and languages on the chosen platforms, test two or three audiences against each other, and keep the ones that complete the vote, not just click.

Can you run ads if the contest requires email confirmation or a login?

Yes. We write the ad and the landing message so supporters know what to expect, such as a confirmation email, and we remind them to finish it. Our guides on voting protection types describe how each kind of check changes the message and the pacing.

How soon can ads start after I contact you?

After the analysis and a short call, setup normally takes days, not weeks. The tracking, creative and ad accounts come first, and the first ads go live once you approve them. A very near deadline changes the plan, so tell us the date at the start.

Do you guarantee a number of votes?

No. We guarantee the agreed work: setup, launch, optimisation and reporting. The number of votes depends on the field, the voters and the rules, which we do not control. We give honest projections of reach and clicks, and we label them as projections, not promises.

Do I keep the ad accounts and creative afterwards?

Yes. The ad account, its history and all creative files remain yours, along with the audience notes from the wrap-up report. That way a later contest starts with a tested audience and message instead of from zero.
