Contest marketing FAQ: what buyers ask before they start

Fifteen straight answers about scope, cost, timing, rules, safety and reporting, including what we will not do for any client.

In shortCoinMarketing Pro promotes contest entries with paid ads, creative, creator and community outreach, and rules consulting, always inside the contest's own rules and the platforms' policies. We never sell votes or use automation. The answers below cover cost, timing, what to send, rules, children, reporting and what you keep afterwards, and each links to the page with more detail.

Where should you start if you only have a minute?

Start with the free analysis. Send the contest link, the rules, your entry link, the deadline and your goal, and we reply with a read of the rules, the risks and a suggested plan. The free contest analysis page lists exactly what to include.

The short version of what we do: we buy attention, not votes. Ads, creator posts and consent-based messages bring people to your entry, and what they do next is their own decision. The longer version is on the contest marketing overview, and the working order of a campaign is on the process page.

The questions below are grouped in the order buyers usually ask them: what you buy, what it costs, what the rules and platforms allow, and what you see afterwards.

Which question is missing from this list?

If your question is about a particular channel, voting check or contest type, the detail lives on a dedicated page:

If the answer is still not here, put the question in your free analysis request. We answer it together with the rules read, at no cost.

Frequently asked questions

What is contest marketing, and who is it for?

Contest marketing is the work of bringing a contest entry to the people who might vote for it, using paid ads, creative, outreach to creators and communities, and a rules check. It suits entrants in photo, video, music, business, youth and Web3 contests, and organizers who want honest participation.

Do you sell votes, followers or engagement?

No. We do not sell votes, followers or engagement, and we do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts or click farms. We pay advertising platforms to show your entry to people who may care, and we write messages for communities that welcome them. The vote remains each person's own choice.

How much does contest promotion cost?

The cost has two parts: the ad budget you set, paid to the advertising platform, and our fee for planning, creative, management and reporting. The fee depends on platforms, countries, campaign length and the amount of creative. We give the quote on request and confirm it in writing before work starts.

How fast can a campaign start?

After the free analysis and a short call, setup usually takes days, not weeks. Creative, audiences and tracking links come first, and ads go live once you approve them. If the deadline is close, tell us the date in your first message, because it changes the plan.

What do I need to send you?

Five things: the contest link, the full rules, the direct link to your entry with a note on how voting works, the deadline with its time zone, and your goal. Photos, clips and the audience you hope to reach help but are optional. Missing items are listed for you in our reply.

What if the contest rules do not allow outside promotion?

We tell you before any money is spent, and we decline the project. Where the rules only ban paid ads, we can plan organic and consent-based outreach instead. Where the wording is unclear, we help you write a question to the organizer and wait for the written reply.

Could the organizer disqualify my entry because of paid ads?

That is decided by the contest's rules and the organizer, not by us. We read the rules first and run only what they allow. Traffic from ads, creators and communities looks like what it is, and our records show what ran and when, so you can answer an organizer's question with facts.

Which platforms do you use?

We use the ones where your voters are: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, Telegram, WhatsApp, VK, Threads, Google Ads and email. A typical campaign focuses on two or three of them, chosen after the rules are read and the voters are mapped.

Can you work on contests with children or pets?

Yes, with conditions. When a minor takes part, a parent or guardian must agree to the entry and the promotion, and we follow each platform's age and privacy rules. Pet and school contests are planned around those limits. Without the agreement we decline.

Can you handle email confirmation, login or captcha in the voting?

Yes. We write the ad and the landing message so supporters know which steps to expect, and we remind them to finish them. We never help anyone get around a protection step, and our guides on voting protection types show how each one shapes the message.

Do you promise a win or a number of votes?

No. We promise the agreed work: setup, launch, optimisation and daily reporting, plus honest projections that are labelled as projections. The result depends on the field, the voters and the organizer's rules, and none of those is ours to control.

What do you report, and how often?

You receive a short note every day with spend, reach, clicks and traffic sources from the platforms' own analytics, plus a line about the public entry counter. A weekly comparison with the projection follows, and a wrap-up report closes the campaign.

Can I buy only one service, such as creative or consulting?

Yes. Paid promotion, creative and copy, rules and risk consulting, influencer outreach and community or email outreach can be bought separately or together. Most entrants start with consulting and paid ads and add creative after the first week of data.

Do you work on crypto, NFT and Web3 contests?

Yes, including hackathons, grants and community awards. The same rules apply as everywhere else, and we avoid any talk of token price, profit or returns. Our page on crypto and Web3 contests describes how we plan them.

What do I keep when the campaign is over?

The ad account and its history, all creative files, the tracking setup and the audience notes from the wrap-up report. A later contest then starts with tested audiences and messages instead of from zero.
