How many platforms does a contest campaign really need?
Two or three. A contest entry has one link, one deadline and a limited budget, and a limited budget spread across ten channels produces ten sets of data too thin to read. Concentrating it on a few channels lets us test the message properly and move money toward whatever works.
Use this decision rule before you open any guide:
- Start from the voters, not the platform. Who will actually click your link? Neighbours, customers, fans of a genre, colleagues, parents at a school? Name the group first.
- Match the entry to the format. If your entry is a clip, a video-first channel carries it. If it is a business listing in a local poll, a place where local customers and email lists live carries it.
- Check what voting asks of a supporter. A vote that needs an email confirmation or a login loses people on a channel where users rarely leave the app. Our guides on voting protection types explain how each check changes the plan.
- Check the contest rules last, but before spending. Some organizers restrict paid ads or outside posting. The rules and risk check is the first thing we do.
The answer is rarely the biggest network. It is the one where your particular voters are already paying attention, which we confirm with a small test before scaling.
Which channels tend to suit which kind of contest?
Contest type is the fastest filter. The table gives a starting point; the individual guides explain the reasoning and the exceptions.
| Contest type | Channels we usually look at first |
|---|---|
| Photo, video and music (creative contests) | TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest |
| Business awards and local polls (business contests) | Facebook, email, LinkedIn, Google Ads |
| Beauty, kids, pets and school (youth contests) | Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram with parental consent |
| Crypto, NFT and Web3 (Web3 contests) | X, Telegram, Reddit, Threads |
Treat this as a hypothesis. A wedding photographer may find voters in a parents' group on Facebook; a band may find them in a Telegram community. The first week of data confirms or corrects the guess, and we adjust without drama.
Two cautions. Contests with children need a parent or guardian to agree to the entry and the promotion, and each platform has its own age and privacy rules. Web3 contests are promoted without any talk of token price, profit or returns.
What does each of the fifteen platform guides cover?
Each guide answers the same six questions for its channel: which contests suit it, which content and ad formats you can use, what to prepare, which community or ad rules you must respect, how we measure it, and what we will not do there. Pick the channels you are considering and read those pages.
Social networks
- Facebook: pages, groups and Meta ads for local and community contests.
- Instagram: posts, Stories, Reels and Meta ads for visual entries.
- TikTok: short video, creators and ads for clip-based entries.

- X: posts, threads, replies and X ads.
- LinkedIn: professional awards and company rankings.
- Reddit: niche communities with strict self-promotion rules.
- Pinterest: visual, search-led discovery.
- Snapchat: younger, mobile-first audiences.
- Threads: conversation-led posts.
- VK: Russian-language communities.
Messengers, search and email
- Telegram: channels and groups, with admin consent.

What does CoinMarketing Pro do the same way on every channel?
The channel changes; the working method does not. Every platform engagement runs through the same four habits, which is why you can compare results between channels.
Rules before reach
We read the contest terms and the platform's own advertising and community rules before a single post or ad is made. If either forbids what you want, we say so and plan around it or decline. Declined projects are listed on the page about when we decline a contest project.
One tracked link per channel
Every channel gets its own tracking link to your entry, so a click can be traced to the platform and the creative that produced it. Where the voting page lets us see completed votes, we connect the two; where it does not, we say so in the report instead of guessing.
Daily reading, plain reporting
You receive a short report from the platform's own analytics: spend, reach, clicks, and what we changed. The way we read it is set out in our methodology, and the process page shows the week-by-week rhythm.
A hard line
We do not buy votes, followers or engagement, and we do not run scripts, fake accounts or click farms on any channel. The wording is the same in every guide because the boundary is the same; the full text is on the no-bots policy page.
Not sure which two or three to pick?
Send us the contest link and we will choose with you. The free contest analysis takes the contest page, the rules, your entry link and the deadline, and returns a short read of what the rules allow and which channels look sensible, with a reason for each.
Bring four facts and the answer is faster:
- Who you believe your voters are, in one sentence.
- Which networks you already post on, and roughly how active they are.
- Whether supporters must confirm an email, log in or pass a captcha to vote.
- The date and time zone of the deadline.
If you want to think first, the WhatsApp starters work on their own: the budget range with a thirty-minute strategy call, the templates for asking people to vote and the campaign calendar.
Platform work then becomes part of paid promotion, creator outreach or community and email outreach, depending on the channel. Prices are given on request and confirmed in writing before work starts; ad spend is paid to the platform and invoiced separately.
Frequently asked questions
Which social network is best for promoting a contest entry?
There is no single best one. The best network is the one where your likely voters already spend time and where your entry fits the format. A video entry fits a video-first channel; a local business poll fits community and email channels. We choose two or three after reading the rules and run a short test before scaling.
Can I promote a contest entry on all fifteen platforms at once?
You can, but it rarely helps. A limited budget divided across many channels gives each one too little data to judge, and every extra channel needs its own creative and its own rule check. We recommend two or three, done properly, and add a channel only when the data justifies it.
Do you need access to my social accounts?
For ads we need access to an ad account, which is usually a business account you own or one we set up with you, so the history stays yours. For organic posts you approve every post before it goes live. We never ask for personal passwords and never post from accounts we cannot show you.
What if the contest rules forbid paid ads or outside sharing?
We tell you before any money is spent. If paid ads are forbidden but sharing is allowed, we can plan organic and consent-based outreach. If outside promotion of any kind is forbidden, we decline the project rather than put your entry at risk of removal.
Do the platform guides apply to contests run on a separate voting website?
Yes. Most contests vote on their own site or inside a contest tool such as Woobox, Gleam, Easypromos, Pollunit or ShortStack, and the platforms only carry people to it. The guides therefore focus on getting a supporter from the channel to the voting page and through any verification step.
How do you report results across different platforms?
Each platform is reported from its own analytics with its own tracking link, so numbers are never mixed or invented. You see spend, reach and clicks per channel, plus completed votes where the voting page allows us to see them. Projections are labelled as projections and kept apart from measured data.
Will you promote an entry in a language I do not speak?
Yes, if the audience and the contest call for it. We write the ads and posts in the voters' language, and you approve the English meaning of each before launch. Some channels, such as VK, are mainly relevant for specific language communities, and the guide for that channel explains when it is worth using.
