Where does a contest entry belong on Telegram: your channel, partner channels, groups or ads?
It belongs in all four only if each one suits the audience, and every one of them needs a different kind of permission. Start with the places you control, then move to places where someone else decides.
| Place | Who decides | Best use | What we prepare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your own channel | You | Announcements and deadline reminders | Post texts and a schedule |
| Partner channels | Their admins | Reaching a new audience with a relevant post | A message to the admin and a draft post |
| Groups | Admins and members | Discussion with people who know the subject | Guidance on joining the conversation openly |
| Telegram ads | Telegram's ad review | Reach on your dates | Ad text, audience choices, tracking link |
How to pick
- If you already have a channel, use it first. People who follow you are the easiest to ask.
- If the contest is about a hobby, a city or a profession, look for channels and groups on that theme.
- If the deadline is close, ads give you dates you can plan.
- If a group bans promotion, you do not post there, whatever the contest asks.
The approach is part of the wider community, email and messenger outreach service, and the platform comparison on WhatsApp channels shows how messengers differ.
How do you get an admin to agree to a post about your contest?
You ask directly, politely, and with enough detail that the admin can decide in a minute. A channel's audience is the admin's asset, and a good admin protects it.
What the message contains
- Who you are and what you entered, in two sentences.
- A link to the contest and the rules, so the admin can see it is real.
- The exact text you would like to publish, which the admin may edit or refuse.
- Whether you offer anything in return, such as a post in your own channel, or a fee for a clearly marked advertisement.
- An easy way to say no.
Paid posts
If an admin charges for posts, the post is marked as an advertisement according to the admin's own practice and the contest rules, and the fee is agreed before anything is published. Paid or free, the post is the admin's to approve.
What we do not do
We do not post in groups where we have not been invited, we do not paste the same text into many places, and we do not add people to groups or channels they did not choose to join. We use no automated tools for posting or inviting. If a channel's admin does not reply, the channel is left alone.
You can see how this fits among other consent-based methods on the page about influencer and creator outreach, since many channel admins are creators in their own right.
What should the post about your entry actually say?
It should say what the entry is, why a reader in this channel might care, how to vote and when voting ends, and it should carry one link. Anything more makes the reader scroll past.
A checklist for every post
- First line: what you made or entered, in plain words.
- Second line: why it is relevant to this channel's readers.
- The voting steps in a short list, including any email confirmation.
- The deadline with a time zone.
- One tracked link.
- Your name or the name of the entrant, so readers know who is asking.
An illustrative example, not a real client
For a local bakery in a best-in-city poll, a post to a neighbourhood channel might read: a one-line introduction, a photo of the shop, three short steps for voting, the closing date and the link. The text for a reminder one day before the deadline would be shorter still.
Different posts for different places
The text for your own channel can be warm and personal. The text for a partner channel is shorter and more neutral, since the admin's readers did not choose to follow you. For groups, there is often no post at all, only a considered answer when someone asks about the subject.
Our templates for asking people to vote give a starting point, and the creative and copy service covers a full set of texts and images that you approve before they are used.
How do Telegram ads fit a contest, and what do they cost to run?
Telegram ads let you pay to show a short text to an audience you choose, at dates you set, without needing anyone's agreement. They are the right tool when channels will not take your post or when the deadline is close.
An ad is a few lines of text and a link, so the writing has to be tight: what the entry is, one reason to look, and the call to open the link. We write two or three versions and read the results each day. The official Telegram ads platform is where the account lives, and you can open it yourself at any time.
What we need from you
- A business account on the ad platform that you own, or help us create one with you.
- Approval of the text and the landing page.
- A budget you set, which is paid to the platform as a separate line from our fee.
How we report
Each version carries its own tracked link, so the daily report shows which text brought visitors. Where the voting page lets us tie visits to completed votes, we show that too. Where it does not, we tell you.
Ads are reviewed by the platform before they run, and a rejected ad is rewritten in line with the platform's rules, never reworded to slip past them. Read about the wider approach on paid promotion of contest entries.
Where does Telegram promotion stop, and what do you send first?
Admins can say no, can remove a post and can change their rules, and a message in a channel is read only by those who open that channel that day. We keep the plan flexible, with the ad route available when a channel declines, and we do not promise views or votes.
Send the contest link, the rules, your entry and the deadline through the free contest analysis. Add any channels or groups you already belong to. You get back the list of places where a post is welcome and where it is not, our view on whether to run ads, and a quote. If you want a schedule to compare, the campaign calendar is free, and the budget planner includes a thirty-minute strategy call.
How it works
- Contest and community rules readYou send the contest link, entry and deadline. We read the contest rules and the rules of every channel or group on the list.
- Admin outreachWe draft a short message and a post for each channel admin to review, and you send or approve them.
- Ad setupWe write the Telegram ad versions and set tracked links, and you approve the text and the budget.
- Publish and read dailyAgreed posts and ads go live, and each day you receive a report built on the tracked links and channel numbers.
- Reminders and wrap-upWe run the deadline reminders and send a wrap-up report with texts, links and audience notes.
Frequently asked questions
Can you post my contest entry in Telegram groups?
Only in groups where the admin allows it and the group's rules permit promotion. We do not paste text into many groups or join just to post a link. In most groups the better move is to take part in the conversation openly and mention the entry only when it is relevant and permitted.
Do you add people to channels or groups?
No. People join channels and groups by their own choice. We do not use mass-adding or automated invitation tools, and we do not accept projects that depend on them.
How do you pay a channel admin for a post?
The fee is agreed with the admin in advance, the post is marked as an advertisement as the admin's practice and the contest rules require, and the admin approves the text. Fees for admins are separate from our fee and from ad budget, and we show all three lines.
How much does Telegram promotion for a contest cost?
There are three possible lines: ad budget paid to the platform, any fees paid to channel admins, and our fee for planning, drafting, management and reporting. The total depends on how many places you use and for how long. We quote on request and confirm it in writing.
How do I know which channel brought the votes?
Each post and ad version carries its own tracked link, so the report shows visits by source. Where the voting page allows it, we connect visits to completed votes. Where it does not, we use the clicks and the entry counter that you can see yourself.
What if a channel admin refuses?
We leave that channel alone and say thank you. The plan moves to other channels, your own channel or Telegram ads. A refusal is useful information, since it tells you that the audience there did not want contest posts.
Do you promise a number of votes from Telegram?
No. We promise the agreed work: reading the rules, admin outreach, ad setup, daily reports and honest projections. Whether a channel's readers follow the link and finish the vote is their decision.
